No, Danny! and chocolate cake and fedoras.

day 3 of sports camp week. i am tired. today was trying for me. there is one little boy, Danny, who is so adorable and so naughty. you know that book No, David! ? Danny could be in that book. today, during basketball, he decided to lick his ball. with his tongue. all over it. i think i said No, Danny! over 34 times. ’nuff said.

i promised a bit on Lydia. i ♥ Lydia. i think that was my favourite one. i liked Shannon and Georgina. but i love Lydia and Northover. i’m in the beginning of Cecily now. i think i’ll still end up loving Lydia the best. i haven’t read enough of Cecily to decide if i adore it beyond all the others. from what i’ve seen, Clare Darcy seems to have written 14 novels. i shall read all of them. then i’ll let you know what my true favourite is. right now…it’s Lydia. so here’s a bit.

“““““““““““““““““““““

“She had stopped crying, and, after looking vainly for a handkerchief with which to dry her wet cheeks, was reduced to accepting – with a dagger-glance – the one thrust upon her by Northover. ‘There Lydia mia!’ he said soothingly. ‘Dry your eyes and compose your temper, and when I return we’ll sort this all out.’ “

-Lydia: by Clare Darcy

“““““““““““““““““““““

love, love, love the way he treats her like a child because she acts like one. she expects everyone to pretend as if she’s an adult, but really, he knew better. i need a shirt that says i ♥ Northover. because i do.

our party planning is in full swing. this is going to be quite the bash. really. i cannot wait. dresses. lights. typewritten invitations. S.Pellegrino. homemade ice-cream. chocolate zucchini cake. fedoras. flower hair-pins. music. short films. clotheslines. maybe a string of pearls…i’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. i need to remember to remind myself to do that.

Bella's reminder: take photographs at your party. lots.lots.and lots.

(i have a little story to tell. we were in the grocery store the other day. and this man all of the sudden started belting out HAPPY BIRTHDAY to his wife on the intercom. too cute. that is going in a story of mine most definitely.)

tonight was filled with handstands and glasses of milk and cherries and laughing and some Cecily and blue+white flowered nightgowns and waiting for the wedding this weekend and {a little green sweater}.

off to bed now.

love.

p.s. i got Miss Tandy’s and my trunks all packed up. mine is filled with Shakespeare and Dickens and Austen and me. not to mention all my magazine clippings and my pencils. Miss Tandy’s has her vintage hats and 2 tambourines in her’s so far. i like our trunks. our little blue trunks.

green coats in Narnia…

this is sports camp week for me. 5 days of following little children around and attempting to teach them ever so many things.

this is day 1. telling them to sit here, do this, and look at me. trying to get them to split their feet the perfect distance. to hold their bat up high enough. to keep their eyes on the ball and stop grinning and looking at me and keep your eyes on the ball and O you missed and i’ll laugh with you anyways. trying to get them to sit in a straight line. to follow me. to listen. button your lips. listen. listen. and not to mention listen.

i it.

so many cute things happened to me today. i saw a truck with the Pink Panther painted on the back of it. i finished Lydia (more on that in another post. maybe tomorrow…).  i found myself some new lipstick. Reel Red – i have it on right now. i went to a little thrift shop with Mumsie, Miss Tandy, and Lala mia. and i found Miss Tandy and i some splendid blue chests. 1 for her, 1 for me. i’ll fill mine with books and my writings and ribbons and letters and what-not. and Miss Tandy will fill her’s with i-don’t-know. i also fell in love with this coat—-even though it’s not red.

p-newerkav-juniper

the Juniper Newark Avenue Coat. so adorable. it’s by Christa Taylor, one of the most a.m.a.z.i.n.g. young ladies ever. she makes love in the form of clothing. makes me so happy. i like it a lot.

(seems i’m into coats right now because i miss winter. i want the cold O so badly. i was watching The Chronicles of Narnia yesterday and i almost cried because it was snowing in that film. i want the snow.)

speaking of films -i.e. Narnia- i really want to see The Time Traveler’s Wife. really. i’m practically in love with the previews. another one i cannot wait for is Bandslam (i think that’s what it’s called). my favourite part in the preview: when he wants to kiss her, he’s supposed to gently tuck a piece of hair behind her ear, and instead, he knocks her hat off….on purpose. too funny. i laughed my very loud laugh. the laugh that embarrasses Miss Tandy. that’s how funny it is. i really want to see both those.

Lala mia wants to go to bed. and i must go to get sleep for tomorrow. i have a long day of packing a blue chest up with books and my works and teaching children soccer and planning that smashing party that’s coming along ever so nicely (more on that tomorrow too).

anywho….off to my lovely little bed {in this blue+white flowered nightgown}.

DOLCE & GABBANA.anthropology.opera.LOVE

my Lala is home. for now. i love that.

(you know what i adore about her? i adore it when she wears DOLCE & GABBANA© and smells ever so scrumptious).

she and Miss Tandy are waltzing about making a little short film about LOVE.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

it’s too cute.

Phil Wickham is playing. sometimes i feel bad for him. i would hate to have the last name Wickham. i think i would cry every day. or at least whenever i read Pride and Prejudice…

today i watched A Room With a View. i love George. so much. the way he just kisses Miss Honeychurch without a word. love it. my favourite part was when she fainted in the town square in Italy. and he caught her. or maybe when he first kissed her in that field. now that, i loved.

not to mention the song that plays…

“O mio babbino caro
Mi piace, è bello, bello
Vo’ andare in Porta Rossa
a comperar l’anello!
Sì, sì, ci voglio andare!
e se l’amassi indarno,
andrei sul Ponte Vecchio,
ma per buttarmi in Arno!
Mi struggo e mi tormento!
O Dio, vorrei morir!
Babbo, pietà, pietà!
Babbo, pietà, pietà!”

that is my absolute favourite.

i read some Little Men.
typed a bit of Mary Poppins.
looked for a book to be my anthropologist book.
thought of Romeo.
{wore that mustard coloured pencil skirt. again.}
watched people.
and played some baseball. of sorts.

i heard these a.m.a.z.i.n.g. people play at the weekend Camp. it was breathtaking to say the least. you really should take a peek. or a little listen somehow.

today was sweet. because my sweetheart’s home with me. i can’t wait for her to wear DOLCE & GABBANA©.

love.

a step for man….t.o.m.o.r.r.o.w.

i’m eating cereal without milk. i stole that from The Astronaut Farmer. love that movie.

the weekend Camp was soooooo lovely. i adored all of it. most of it. i watched insane young men jump over 12 or 13 or 11 chairs in a row. i got very wet while wearing my skinny jeans. i got to see Miss Christi-probably one of the three{3} prettiest people i know. i played SLAP. i saw Mr.Davey….boy, do i miss him more every year….even if he does drive me mad with worry. i stayed up into the early hours of morning. i heard some of the best speakers ever. i played ping-pong. i loved it. i ♥love♥ things like Camp.

i daresay that if i wasn't going to be a writer,
i would want to be an Anthropologist.

did you know, today, is the day men landed on the moon for the first time? 40 years ago. i wonder what that felt like. to be the first. to actually be there. i think they would feel lonely. i would.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

-Neil Armstrong.

(he actually said that tomorrow.)

i ♥ the moon. and weekend Camp. and happyness. and pencil skirts. and green tea. and cereal. and people.

i think i'll keep a little diary of things people do. i'd like that.
i'd like to read that.

love.

just one bouquet.

today we head off to camp for a day and tomorrow. i’m going to miss my Lala coming home from her camp. O dear. *sigh*

but it’s dandy nontheless. i get to see some a.m.a.z.i.n.g. friends. my hair is curled. and there’s a mustard coloured pencil skirt waiting for me on my bed. not to mention i can type away until it’s time to leave….

i’m thinking about flowers right now. i love to type about flowers on my typewriter. tulips. sunflowers. poppies. daisies. roses. all of them. those are some of my favourite words to type. flowers can make the most silly or terrible thing romantic. just one bouquet. just one.

(they’re watching Wishbone on t.v. i ♥ Wishbone. i used to watch it when i was little. it made me want a Jack Russel Terrier that could talk, but there were none. *sigh*)

now off to my cup of tea, packing my backpack, typing about The girl in the yellow dress and The boy at the third table on the left, and that pencil skirt.

Love.

…poofy…hair…

Miss Tandy and i just finished watching The Magnificent Ambersons. i like that movie. i own the book (and have yet to read it), but seeing the movie was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. i completely hated George. up until the point when his Aunt Fanny went crazy on him and he had to calm her down in that little dumpy apartment because she thought he was going to leave her and all she had was 28 dollars. then, i felt he learned his lesson and deserved for me to like him. so i did. and i found him to be spoiled, a brat, utterly rude, and really sweet.  that is why i like that movie. i love it when i hate people and then learn to like them throughout the book or film (not to mention that Jonathan Rhys Meyers is reaaalllly hard to hate. even when he’s playing the part of a brat).

{today i’m wearing an orange checkered apron and a little blue shirt.}

i made some Friendship Bread a few minutes ago. i love friendship bread. and i love making it. the task usually falls onto the shoulders of Miss Tandy (i say it’s a task because we somehow ended up with bag{s} of it. it’s hard to give friendship bread away when you only have so many friends. so now, we have to make all of it.*smile*) but when i get to do it, i do so enjoy myself. i think Miss Tandy likes to do it because it involves pudding…

we also watched Disney’s Tarzan today. and i realized my favourite part of that entire movie is when Tarzan goes back to rescue the apes and Kerchak looks at him and says: “You came back…” (in disbelief). and Tarzan replies: “I came home.” that is the best part. there is not a doubt in my mind. that is the best part….you know, i really have to get myself the Tarzan books. but for the life of me, i cannot find them.

so….right now, i’ve been watching a lot of movies. i think it’s partly because i miss my Lala (she’s at a camp). and she took the camera with her. *cry* but i’ll be alright. and movies aren’t that terrible. some of them, are l♥o♥v♥e♥l♥y. like Tarzan. and The Magnificent Ambersons. and Tess of the D’Urbervilles (it’s on the floor in my room). i love good movies.

now i’m off to type on my adorable typewriter and have a little cup of tea and twirl my fingers in my very poofy hair.
