the beach

tomorrow i get to go to the beach.

i am so excited i think i might faint.

i ♥ the beach.

we’re headed off on our annual SEASIDE xc trip. over 7 hours on a bus. lots of good food. plenty of salty air. pyramids on the sand. a three-course challenge. over 700 xc runners. 1 amazing mud-pit.

(i ♥ the mud-pit.)

a marching band. OCEAN. walking through downtown SEASIDE. ice-cream. and all the rest of that jazz.

here’s a taste of last year’s mud-pit:

what’s not to LOVE?

i’ll be sure to post some new photographs that i snap at the mud-pit this year.

we gave Daryel a little present and bunch of balloons for his birthday yesterday. funniest thing ever. he clipped the balloons to the back of his shirt and practiced soccer like that. it made me laugh. i can’t really think of anyone else but Daryel who would run around with a bunch of balloons trailing behind him while passing a soccer ball back and forth. Miss Tandy and i were glad he liked it. his exact words, “You’ve made me the happiest man alive!”

i suppose i’ll go work on some little stories i have going. i’m actually really inspired right now.

(i wish i could bring my typewriter on the bus.)

HELLO: my name is Bella, and i’m a writer who’s addicted to blogging.

i woke up this morning and immediately thought, i want to blog. that made me a bit sad (that, and the fact we can’t go to see La Boheme because we can’t get tickets so we can sit all together. *cry*). really though, i think i’m addicted to blogging. it’s melancholy in some ways. but i like it secretly. it makes me write.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

yesterday:

•i watched The City of Ember.

•i finished Elyza (Lydia is still my favourite).

•i played PIT with Mr.Dante and BOGGLE with Mumsie.

•{i wore a little aqua dress made by Miss Tandy.}

•i saw a man break another man’s arm in UFC.

•i fell in love with yellow.

•i laughed.

today:

•i went to Church.

•i listened to Lala mia sing.

•i love argyle to death. really.

•i had an orange cream ice-cream bar.

•i think that Clare Darcy’s men are almost all the same. wealthy.un-romantic.chivalrous.a bit roguish. shunned by society at one time or another.and supposedly handsome.

•i reeeeaaallllly want to watch some of The Waltons. but i’ll settle for Smallville.

•i’m reading Cecily.

•i’m tired.

Mr.Sam quoted this little quote to me about blogs the other day.

“Never have so many people, with so little to say, said so much, to so few.”

i think it might be true. but i to blog. so only if it’s to a few, and only if i’m pointlessly bantering at times, i will still say it. i admit it. i just got started, and i’m a blog addict. Miss Tandy tells me all the time…but i’m a happily typing away my few little words blog addict. and i like it. if it really comes down to it, the fact of the matter is, i’m a writer who likes to blog so she can write sweet tid-bits and post them (i.e. blog addict). i prefer the term WRITER though. and i am. i am a writer. (just so you know, typing on my typewriter and writing in my notebooks and holding my finished pieces in my hands is so much better than blogging.)

party. PARTY. par-tay. or just party. (you can say it 100 different ways…)

today is party day. so i can’t write long. (our family gets upset on party days. i like it.)

think, lemonade. red lips. dresses. limbo. seagulls. lights. cake. homemade ice-cream. swing dancing. neckties and fedoras. mis-matched table cloths. penny wishes.

O it’s going to be grand.

love.

yellow shoes and red lips make me happy.

i am in ♥ with Spirocreations on Etsy right now. their shoes just blow me away.

Tinkerbell Ballet Flats

Tinkerbell Ballet Flats

i think the Tinkerbell Ballet Flats are my favourite. but the Mary-Jane Moccasins are a close second.

Mary-Jane Moccasins

Mary-Jane Moccasins

this Husband and Wife team are marvelous. so talented. it makes my head spin. take a look if you can…

{i’m wearing a little graphic pattern skirt today. and red lipstick.} i’m happy.

we went to the grocery store earlier this morning. i found some LEGOS in the parking lot. only once in my life will that happen i think…

on tap for this day:

•bread baking in an apron.

•cleaning.

•making little felt flower hair-pins.

•writing letters.

•finding an ice-cream recipe for the party.

•and watching some Aaron Stone with Mr.Dante.

(i woke up in a sour mood this morning. Franny has been stealing my socks and wearing them for 3 days in a row. that is just as bad as when my feet get hot. i hate it. makes me want to rip up a thousand pairs of socks. including mine. *sigh*. the downs of living in a family of 7.) but you know something? who can be in a sour mood while wearing Reel Red lipstick? i.can’t.that’s.for.sure. so i put it on and made myself happy. i will always collect red lipstick. and then i will always be happy.

now i’m off to wish for shoes and bake a loaf of bread and cry over Rudy Steiner who died in The Book Thief today. (i finished reading it again. for just about the 5th time).

No, Danny! and chocolate cake and fedoras.

day 3 of sports camp week. i am tired. today was trying for me. there is one little boy, Danny, who is so adorable and so naughty. you know that book No, David! ? Danny could be in that book. today, during basketball, he decided to lick his ball. with his tongue. all over it. i think i said No, Danny! over 34 times. ’nuff said.

i promised a bit on Lydia. i ♥ Lydia. i think that was my favourite one. i liked Shannon and Georgina. but i love Lydia and Northover. i’m in the beginning of Cecily now. i think i’ll still end up loving Lydia the best. i haven’t read enough of Cecily to decide if i adore it beyond all the others. from what i’ve seen, Clare Darcy seems to have written 14 novels. i shall read all of them. then i’ll let you know what my true favourite is. right now…it’s Lydia. so here’s a bit.

“““““““““““““““““““““

“She had stopped crying, and, after looking vainly for a handkerchief with which to dry her wet cheeks, was reduced to accepting – with a dagger-glance – the one thrust upon her by Northover. ‘There Lydia mia!’ he said soothingly. ‘Dry your eyes and compose your temper, and when I return we’ll sort this all out.’ “

-Lydia: by Clare Darcy

“““““““““““““““““““““

love, love, love the way he treats her like a child because she acts like one. she expects everyone to pretend as if she’s an adult, but really, he knew better. i need a shirt that says i ♥ Northover. because i do.

our party planning is in full swing. this is going to be quite the bash. really. i cannot wait. dresses. lights. typewritten invitations. S.Pellegrino. homemade ice-cream. chocolate zucchini cake. fedoras. flower hair-pins. music. short films. clotheslines. maybe a string of pearls…i’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. i need to remember to remind myself to do that.

Bella's reminder: take photographs at your party. lots.lots.and lots.

(i have a little story to tell. we were in the grocery store the other day. and this man all of the sudden started belting out HAPPY BIRTHDAY to his wife on the intercom. too cute. that is going in a story of mine most definitely.)

tonight was filled with handstands and glasses of milk and cherries and laughing and some Cecily and blue+white flowered nightgowns and waiting for the wedding this weekend and {a little green sweater}.

off to bed now.

love.

p.s. i got Miss Tandy’s and my trunks all packed up. mine is filled with Shakespeare and Dickens and Austen and me. not to mention all my magazine clippings and my pencils. Miss Tandy’s has her vintage hats and 2 tambourines in her’s so far. i like our trunks. our little blue trunks.

meet me here.

i'm Bella.
i love clotheslines, writing, humor, the colour cornflower blue, ballet, baking bread, and freckles.
i collect red lipstick, bowties+neckties, vinyl records, and classic books.
i have J.Crew rainboots, too many {little black dresses}, a good hankering for italiano food everyday, and such a want to go see the opera.
i think boys with their shirtsleeves rolled up are better, Charles Dickens was amazing, vintage is the best, goodwill is the way to go, Church makes everyone hungry, and life is about swing dancing.

that's me in a nutshell.
