RAINBOOTS FOR ME.

O i love love love my life.

here is why:

•i went to SONIC for the first time.

•i had a lovely party.

•i learned to skip rocks (sort of).

•and i have rainboots.

yes, you read that right. i have rainboots. J.Crew rainboots. navy blue J.Crew rainboots with little dalmatians on them. i almost died when my Mumsie gave them to me. i had no idea. i wanted to sleep with them on that night (last night) but my feet got a little hot in them. just so everyone knows, yellow stoplight wishes do work. i say that and i do believe it. and just so everyone knows, i will one day sleep in my rainboots.

i did go to SONIC for the first time in e.v.e.r. in my life this week. the day before yesterday.IMG_2661

it was snazzy. i think talking into the little box and pushing the red button is superb. and the shakes are yummo. not to mention the Kung-fu fighting music they play.

our party was smashing. even though not all the guests showed up. we had pink lemonade. little seagull cut-outs hanging up. lights. lovely dresses. hats and neckties for the gentlemen. LIMBO. some dandy music. swing dancing. cake (we lost the candles…). penny wishes in the fountain. homemade ice-cream. BINGO (i lost everytime).IMG_2759 i even got a dandy KEEN bag (i keep my notebooks in it), some Mmmmazing tea, and a little book. i felt special. funny thing, near the end, some skateboard kids showed up and wrote a song and sang it. the song was….ummm….funny. i guess. to me at least. when you’re being “serenaded” by 3 skateboarders at 10 o’clock at night, you have to laugh. life threw some lemons, but we had plenty of lemonade at our party. i thought it was superb.

i was taught to skip rocks today. 4 skips. that’s the most i got. the art of skipping rocks is hard to learn.

i’ll have to introduce you to my boots and my typewriter soon. but now i ought to go to bed.

love.

party. PARTY. par-tay. or just party. (you can say it 100 different ways…)

today is party day. so i can’t write long. (our family gets upset on party days. i like it.)

think, lemonade. red lips. dresses. limbo. seagulls. lights. cake. homemade ice-cream. swing dancing. neckties and fedoras. mis-matched table cloths. penny wishes.

O it’s going to be grand.

love.

No, Danny! and chocolate cake and fedoras.

day 3 of sports camp week. i am tired. today was trying for me. there is one little boy, Danny, who is so adorable and so naughty. you know that book No, David! ? Danny could be in that book. today, during basketball, he decided to lick his ball. with his tongue. all over it. i think i said No, Danny! over 34 times. ’nuff said.

i promised a bit on Lydia. i ♥ Lydia. i think that was my favourite one. i liked Shannon and Georgina. but i love Lydia and Northover. i’m in the beginning of Cecily now. i think i’ll still end up loving Lydia the best. i haven’t read enough of Cecily to decide if i adore it beyond all the others. from what i’ve seen, Clare Darcy seems to have written 14 novels. i shall read all of them. then i’ll let you know what my true favourite is. right now…it’s Lydia. so here’s a bit.

“““““““““““““““““““““

“She had stopped crying, and, after looking vainly for a handkerchief with which to dry her wet cheeks, was reduced to accepting – with a dagger-glance – the one thrust upon her by Northover. ‘There Lydia mia!’ he said soothingly. ‘Dry your eyes and compose your temper, and when I return we’ll sort this all out.’ “

-Lydia: by Clare Darcy

love, love, love the way he treats her like a child because she acts like one. she expects everyone to pretend as if she’s an adult, but really, he knew better. i need a shirt that says i ♥ Northover. because i do.

our party planning is in full swing. this is going to be quite the bash. really. i cannot wait. dresses. lights. typewritten invitations. S.Pellegrino. homemade ice-cream. chocolate zucchini cake. fedoras. flower hair-pins. music. short films. clotheslines. maybe a string of pearls…i’ll be sure to take lots of pictures. i need to remember to remind myself to do that.

Bella's reminder: take photographs at your party. lots.lots.and lots.

(i have a little story to tell. we were in the grocery store the other day. and this man all of the sudden started belting out HAPPY BIRTHDAY to his wife on the intercom. too cute. that is going in a story of mine most definitely.)

tonight was filled with handstands and glasses of milk and cherries and laughing and some Cecily and blue+white flowered nightgowns and waiting for the wedding this weekend and {a little green sweater}.

off to bed now.

love.

p.s. i got Miss Tandy’s and my trunks all packed up. mine is filled with Shakespeare and Dickens and Austen and me. not to mention all my magazine clippings and my pencils. Miss Tandy’s has her vintage hats and 2 tambourines in her’s so far. i like our trunks. our little blue trunks.

little thoughts of red peacoats and boys.not.really.here.

here are some little thoughts…

1.i want a red peacoat. really bad. and right now. that’s going in my wish list in my about me. right next to rainboots. and it’s going on my wish clothesline in my room. then, maybe, if i’m a lucky duck… i do so want a red peacoat.

2.there’s a girl singing Let My Love Open The Door from Dan in Real Life in my kitchen right now. too cute.

3.after i went running today, i took a shower in the front yard. in my swimsuit of course. {my red+white+green swimsuit.} the looks i got from people…too funny. they laughed at the girl with bubbles in her hair.

4.i made a lemon-cake-from-a-box. and then i fell asleep. and someone was yelling about it being burnt. *blush*.  i’m such a forgetful baker…

5.it smells like cologne in here. but there are no boys wearing cologne in here. i think my stories are getting to my head. i just wrote about a young man in cologne. and now, i.smell.him.

6.found a red coat. not exactly what i had in mind, but close enough. plus, i adore this one.il_430xN.80773792

it’s by LittleHouses on Etsy. and it’s called the Goldsboro Jacket. i.wish.for.it. or something a little warmer maybe. it gets quite cold here in winter and fall. not to mention it’s going to rain and thunder and lightning any moment. but i do like this one.

7.i just want a red peacoat.

8.(i ran outside ’bout 5 seconds ago because our tent blew over. we had to take it down. {wearing a little white skirt with orange daisies on it} in the middle of a thunderstorm taking down a tent…priceless, and not a very good idea. my skirt blew up.)

9.i really need a red peacoat.

10. party planning is wondrous and snazzy. i love doing it. so darling. i cannot wait to send out invitations. i want red ones.

just a little of me right now…

love.

i like this.

il_430xN.79601025

really though, i love them both to death.♥

the lovely little lady responsible for these a.m.a.z.i.n.g sheath dresses is Arielle, or rather, Necessity is the Mother on Etsy. and really, she seems to be O so lovely. it’s grand. i adore her shop. and her. it’s probably my absolute favourite one{1} shop in the whole of Etsy. and that’s saying a lot.

if you find the time, peek in on her. she’ll make you want it all. *blush*. she made me want it all…

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

2. Without Envy

3. Nie Nie

and that’s really it. *smile*.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

today, my Lala cut my hair. so smashing. i like getting my hair cut.

we’re planning a little bash in a couple of weeks. hopefully there will be swing-dancing, lights, streamers, and homemade ice-cream. we have to make some invitations. that will be one of the best parts. because if anyone remembers, i love invitations. now to find some calligraphy pens…

{i wore red lips and a Nancy Drew like skirt today.}

love.

meet me here.

i'm Bella.
i love clotheslines, writing, humor, the colour cornflower blue, ballet, baking bread, and freckles.
i collect red lipstick, bowties+neckties, vinyl records, and classic books.
i have J.Crew rainboots, too many {little black dresses}, a good hankering for italiano food everyday, and such a want to go see the opera.
i think boys with their shirtsleeves rolled up are better, Charles Dickens was amazing, vintage is the best, goodwill is the way to go, Church makes everyone hungry, and life is about swing dancing.

that's me in a nutshell.
