Joli.

There was lipstick stains on her teacup. It was called “moccacino” or something tasty like that. A deep pink colour. She liked it a lot. She’d probably wear it again tomorrow. To Church. She would like that too.

Her tea was chamomile. And her sweater was a pale grey. Her hair looked nice. She was pleased with it today. It reminded her of the movie “The Notebook.” She was happy today.

Her little sister was watching “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist.” She didn’t really like that movie. At least, she didn’t really like what she’d seen of that movie. She’d only seen the beginning. It didn’t make her heart very happy. But she wasn’t going to lie. The girl in it was pretty. Very pretty. That made her heart happy. She liked pretty people for some reason.

Today she learned how to say pretty in French. “Joli.” It made her happy. She liked that word. It sounded sweet. And it tasted nice.

Happy heart. A joli girl on the television. Sweet tasting lipstick. Sweaters. Hopes of Goodwill shopping tonight. More tea. And nice hair.

Pumpkin Pie in the fridge.

Yesterday was:

Red sweaters.

Almost crying because my fingers were frozen.

Rooibos makes your face hurt less.

We had an Indoor game tonight—I got hit in the face.

Again.

And we lost.

Again.

Down by 1.

But we have such great heart.

(At least that’s what we say…)

My life is a mish-mash of many a thing right now. In short:

.Brownies.

.Chariot by: Gavin DeGraw.

.PUMA indoor shoes.

.Christmas gifts.

.UNO.

.Some Scrabble.

.Writing.

.Blankets.

.Socks.

.Sparkly flats and black tights.

.Talking.Talking.Talking.

.Sweaters.

.Letters.

.Sore left side of my face.

.Searching for more Clare Darcy.

.Wanting Phineas Finn.

.Reading Shakespeare.

.OPERA.

.Cold fingers.

.Poofy hair.

It’s pretty darn grand.

I think I’ll head to bed.

And tomorrow I’ll have a cup of Rooibos tea.

And start Ria’s Christmas gift.

And wear my PUMAS around the house.

It will be sprucey.

Love.

the Dears

Dear men’s trouser socks,

ummm….i kind of think i’m in love with you. its positively thrilling how many colours and patterns and textures you come in. what’s not to love? you are wonderful. and seriously, whoever invented you was wonderful. and O, you’re just so wonderful.

(i’m sorry all of your socks have been stolen Daddy.)

i heart you men’s socks.

Dear teapot,

you rock my men’s trouser socks off.

Dear “people who don’t really care what they’re wearing,”

i’m sorry you don’t care how you look. it makes me sad. i hope you figure out that dressing up for life can make your day. really, it can. it does. if everyone in the world decided that dressing classy was the way to be, i think more people would fall in love and believe in exercise and realize that RED is not just a colour and they would be smarter. ladies were made to wear skirts. and men in button-up shirts are to die for. get it in your head please. your outward appearance might not be the most important thing, but it’s the first thing people see. would’nt you rather be judged on looking classic, than like a gangster with his pants falling off? i for one would rather be taken as a lady, than one who cares not one wit for how she looks after she wakes up. between sweats and a dress, there’s really no choice…

choose the dress.

its much more becoming.

Dear boy in my head,

you are pretty darn cute. and that little lady you manage to make fall in love with you, O she’s incredible. i hope i finish you in time for Christmas…

Dear sweater,

just one more sleeve to knit.

i’ll finish you.

i promise.

you’re looking pretty darn snazzy.

Dear Miss Tandy’s Christmas gift,

you are splendid. positively splendid. i can’t even believe i thought you up. you’ll be adorable. and terribly hard to make. but you’ll be worth it. so worth it.

bother.

whay are the sweet things hardest to make?

love.

tacos at 8:51.

7:28.

that’s the time i woke up this morning. then i made pancakes and orange juice in my little red Hawaiian apron. and it made me very happy. it was quiet in our house this morning. but i was still happy.

then i went to watch Mr.Dante learn the art of swimming. while i was there, Miss Tandy and Franny and i went to the creek. no one fell in…but we saw a lot of little fishies. a lot. we tried to catch them in a styrofoam cup (not very adorable) and i got my jean shorts all wet and i partly sat in the water and i laughed. it was grand. even though fish hunting with a styrofoam cup is not adorable.

there is a glass with 3 roses in it on our kitchen table.♥

{i’m wearing a green sweater  right now.}

i also spent a few minutes this morning putting a page of my.books on here. take a looksie if you find the time. it’s interesting and i adore it so far. there’s a lot more to go though.

into the kitchen to eat now…i think it’s tacos…at 8:51…snazzy i would say…♥.

meet me here.

i'm Bella.
i love clotheslines, writing, humor, the colour cornflower blue, ballet, baking bread, and freckles.
i collect red lipstick, bowties+neckties, vinyl records, and classic books.
i have J.Crew rainboots, too many {little black dresses}, a good hankering for italiano food everyday, and such a want to go see the opera.
i think boys with their shirtsleeves rolled up are better, Charles Dickens was amazing, vintage is the best, goodwill is the way to go, Church makes everyone hungry, and life is about swing dancing.

that's me in a nutshell.
