ask.them.to.dance. (please).

yesterday:

was the wedding.

it was cute. i think my favourite part was when they had their first kiss. the groom looked at her afterwards, and he said, “That was rad.” i thought that was sweet. weddings are better when quirky little things like that happen.

we danced.

at the wedding of course. some really amazing swing dancing. but no one asked me to dance. or Miss Tandy. (so we danced with each other and Popi and Lala mia). i found that amusing. the only explanation we could come up with, all the guys were shy. that’s a silly explanation, but it is what it is. a word of advice to all the guys. if there’s dancing going on, and there are ladies without partners, man up. would you please? even if you’re shy. even if you’ve never seen them before in your life. even if you’re afraid. even if you don’t even know how to dance. just please ask. and if you ever do…

thank you.

today:

i watched some Win A Date With Tad Hamilton with Miss Tandy.

that movie’s o.k. the only reason i watch it, is for the part when he tells her that she has 6 smiles. too cute. i think that just might be the only good line in that film.

i miss track & field.

i miss wearing that amazing spandex uniform. i miss the loooonnnngg bus rides that we would knit on. i miss winning pink ribbons. and the running around cheering in my socks and screaming till i couldn’t talk anymore. the putting flowers in my hair. the Safe-uh-way trips to buy bagels+cheese and frozen corn and cantaloupe. the running to Wal-mart as fast as you can and buying 1 dozen roses and running back as fast as you can so as not to miss the bus leaving. i miss the numbers. and i miss bringing cookies to every meet. i miss wearing my jeans the second day of an overnight because i didn’t make finals. the bruises on my knees because of hurdles. the late late Starbucks stops. the Arizona Green Tea®. the people. the feelings. the taking too many photographs to fit on our digital camera. sitting on the track barefoot. the ice baths. cheering at the BACK-40. i miss it all. i ♥ track. and today i miss track.

we played some amazing frisbee.

and i liked it.

i don’t really know what weddings, young men who don’t dance, missing track & field, Win A Date With Tad Hamilton, and frisbee all have to do with one another, but they relate somehow i suppose. in my priceless life.

(A Cinderella Story is on. that movie is pretty darn dandy. my favourite part is when she and what’s-his-face-her-best-friend are in the hallway and she asks, “What character are you today?” and he says, “Myself.” i love that part.)

today+yesterday…priceless.

and filled with great anthropology experiences.

love.

on the bench in my head.

i get to go to a wedding today. weddings are smashing. i cannot wait. i weddings.

Miss Tandy is throwing a fit about Mother Goose nursery rhymes. she says some of them don’t make sense. i told her they’re not supposed to make sense. they’re rhymes for goodness’ sake. they don’t have to make sense.

sweet tid-bit for today:

……………………………

she sat on the bench. and so did he. she was on the right side. he was sitting halfway off the left side. he was afraid to look at her. she was hesitant. but they did steal glances at one another. she saw his blue eyes and sandy coloured hair. his green scarf and black coat. the way his fingers never stopped moving. he played piano. she could tell. because of his fingers. he was playing Mozart on his lap. he occasionally looked when she didn’t. he made sure not to meet her eyes. grey eyes he saw. grey eyes and brown hair. brown hair like chai tea. she was drinking chai tea. he could smell it. she was wearing a little dress. a dress the colour of burnt oranges. and a brown peacoat with creamy buttons. she looked classy. he looked handsome. and they were made for eachother. but their nerves kept them on their side of the bench. and they didn’t move. except for his piano playing fingers and her occasional sips of chai tea.

……………………………….

i like it. but then again, i usually like what i write. except for the ones i throw away. but then i get them back out. *blush*. because i like them amyway.

i.want.to.go.to.the.wedding. (but it’s at 4 o’clock.) i can be patient. i think.

love.

Red Ginger Heels~

today was Church. our little Church is pretty darn lovely if i do say so myself. sometimes i find it a bit slow, but i always learn something new. something worthwhile. which i like. we got all dandied up (my Lala wore a new skirt she and i sewed yesterday. it.) and walked in late, all smiles. i like that too.

after Church we went on a ladies outing about town for some shopping today. we traipsed about a little clothing store, COSTCO, and goodwill. i ♥ goodwill.

{i wore my vintage high-waisted blue shorts (again) and a little pin striped blue+white blouse. plus red lips.} i felt superb. and like a lady. you always feel superb when you feel like a lady*wink*.

i scored a Do-it-Yourself Pilates kit, little black and cream coloured skirt, and a dress for a wedding we’re headed off to in 2 weeks. i cannot wait to wear that dress. i had quite the problems picking one, but in the end it was mostly Miss Tandy who picked it for me. which i don’t mind in the slightest. i hate making decisions. (i’ll have to stick a picture of my dress on here sometime…maybe closer to the wedding.)

i still haven't found myself an anthropology notebook...

lately i’ve had Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire on the brain. i adore those two. so cute. he was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. and she was incredible. i really want a pair of red heels to wear to the wedding. ones like Ginger Rogers had. but if i can’t find any, i’ll settle for less i suppose. some other colour. i would really like red Ginger heels though…

the colour of this little heart for those heels would be nice.

Miss Tandy is making pancakes for dinner. i think pancakes are one of the spiffiest things ever made. ever. ever. ever. i think i’ll go eat some ’cause they’re done.

love.

picking no-one’s cherries…

there is a little cherry tree planted on the sidewalk in our town in front of a musuem. i think it’s there on accident. *oops* but i it ever since the day Mr.Sam pointed it out to me. who knew there was a cherry tree on the sidewalk? such a grand surprise. {it reminded me of Miss Kirstie Rae and her cherry-stained fingers.}

so today, i went for a walk with Franny and Miss Tandy.  and that cherry tree didn’t stand a chance. even though we had (1) teapot, (2) books, and (3) cans of Arizona Tea®. we came home with a whole bag of cherries. we sort of “borrowed” them. (if you really wanted to, you could maybe say we half-way stole them. but they didn’t really belong to anyone…) picking no-one’s cherries is a lovely thing to do. especially in a skirt.

{i wore a little brown skirt again today.}

i made some cookies. in the shape of doggies. quite cute if you ask me. but i forgot to put my apron on. *blush* i am such a forgetful person at times. i love-hate-like-detest it when i forget things. certain things. i love forgetting my age and standing there thinking about how old i am. and i hate forgetting my dress on the way to a wedding and figuring out i forgot when we’re already 4 hours into the trip. i like forgetting the tea i made in the morning and finding it later on. and i detest forgetting to brush my teeth before i go to bed. i forget. a lot.

we went and picked flowers in the cul-de-sac a few hours ago. there’s now a smashing bouquet on our table. i took pictures of it. you’ll see them tomorrow. maybe. (i might forget. *wink*) i wanted to be a flower-arranger of wedding bouquets tonight. i want to be a lot of things. so i just write. and my characters get to be a lot of things. while i get to be my favourite thing. a writer.

i got a book today. Romeo and Juliet-West Side Story. 2 of my favourite stories. put together.

——————————————-

“Today, all day I had the feeling

A miracle would happen—

I know now I was right.

For here you are

And what was just a world is a star

Tonight!”

-Tony.West Side Story, Act I, Scene V.

———————————————

“…Thus with a kiss I die.”

-Romeo.Romeo and Juliet, Act V, Scene III.

——————————————————-

adore it. absolutely.

i need to water Clyde tomorrow. Mumsie usually remembers for me. but Clyde is too special to forget.

(Vivian is a flower-arranger of wedding bouquets. wouldn’t it be bad if she fell in love with the groom? whose name is….George.)

i found some darling bottle caps on our walk today. i cannot wait to make something out of them.

(the cherries are very red. i like it.)

.Dan+Madge forever.

we went to the yearly library book-sale today. i got some smashing new little novels. poetry. irish jig music. old stories. all the rest of that jazz…

i found an adorable little book called “Love Is.” and i loved it. and then i looked inside the cover. and i loved it even more. ’cause it said this:

‘Love is…

Madge,

during the day and at night,

awake and asleep,

now and always.

Dan-1969′

i found that completely sweet. i hope Dan+Madge love(d) eachother forever. f.o.r.e.v.e.r. how darling. to write, ‘Love is Madge…’ he must have been awfully sweet. awfully sweet indeed.

{i wore a little pink floral dress today.}

this morning i went for a run. then i donned on an apron and baked a loaf of bread. and then i spent some time making little cookies with Miss Tandy. while hopping back and forth trying to watch my favourite scene in a movie—boy and girl sitting in a tree together. little lights. white dress. fear. laughter—-so hard to try and glimpse all that while taking cookies out and putting them in the oven. not to mention cutting them out into bears and gingerbread men…

tomorrow i get to see my Lala. i cannot wait. it will be wonderful. PIÑATAS. fireworks. tea. books. love. smiles. joy. ♥.

i my Lala.

there’s a girl on the t.v. trying on 27 dresses. such a cute movie. the little parts where they say pretty things to one another are the ones i love. and the part when he pencils himself into her day-planner every month.week.day. it’s cute. or when they run around the store registering the bride for the ugliest stuff. that was cute. and when they both love the exact same part of the wedding…turning to see the groom just as the bride walks in. that was the cutest. sometimes i wish i had 27 dresses. maybe i do…

happyness {with a y.}
