yesterday:
was the wedding.
it was cute. i think my favourite part was when they had their first kiss. the groom looked at her afterwards, and he said, “That was rad.” i thought that was sweet. weddings are better when quirky little things like that happen.
we danced.
at the wedding of course. some really amazing swing dancing. but no one asked me to dance. or Miss Tandy. (so we danced with each other and Popi and Lala mia). i found that amusing. the only explanation we could come up with, all the guys were shy. that’s a silly explanation, but it is what it is. a word of advice to all the guys. if there’s dancing going on, and there are ladies without partners, man up. would you please? even if you’re shy. even if you’ve never seen them before in your life. even if you’re afraid. even if you don’t even know how to dance. just please ask. and if you ever do…
thank you.
today:
i watched some Win A Date With Tad Hamilton with Miss Tandy.
that movie’s o.k. the only reason i watch it, is for the part when he tells her that she has 6 smiles. too cute. i think that just might be the only good line in that film.
i miss track & field.
i miss wearing that amazing spandex uniform. i miss the loooonnnngg bus rides that we would knit on. i miss winning pink ribbons. and the running around cheering in my socks and screaming till i couldn’t talk anymore. the putting flowers in my hair. the Safe-uh-way trips to buy bagels+cheese and frozen corn and cantaloupe. the running to Wal-mart as fast as you can and buying 1 dozen roses and running back as fast as you can so as not to miss the bus leaving. i miss the numbers. and i miss bringing cookies to every meet. i miss wearing my jeans the second day of an overnight because i didn’t make finals. the bruises on my knees because of hurdles. the late late Starbucks stops. the Arizona Green Tea®. the people. the feelings. the taking too many photographs to fit on our digital camera. sitting on the track barefoot. the ice baths. cheering at the BACK-40. i miss it all. i ♥ track. and today i miss track.
we played some amazing frisbee.
and i liked it.
i don’t really know what weddings, young men who don’t dance, missing track & field, Win A Date With Tad Hamilton, and frisbee all have to do with one another, but they relate somehow i suppose. in my priceless life.
(A Cinderella Story is on. that movie is pretty darn dandy. my favourite part is when she and what’s-his-face-her-best-friend are in the hallway and she asks, “What character are you today?” and he says, “Myself.” i love that part.)
today+yesterday…priceless.
and filled with great anthropology experiences.
love.
